WHAT IS COVERED BY THE MEDIEVAL FLOORS STONE POLYMER COMPOSITE LUXURY VINYL PLANK FLOORING LIMITED WARRANTY?
WARRANTY OWNER: This limited warranty applies to only original purchaser from the date of purchase. Warranties are non-transferable.
LIMITED LIFETIME RESIDENTIAL FLOORING WARRANTIES: These warranties, which begin from the date of purchase, apply to products used in dry residential applications. Lifetime warranties apply for as long as the original purchaser owns and resides in the home where the product was installed and not for resale.
Pre-Installation Warranty: Please note that the burden rests upon the owners and installers to inspect all planks before installation and before the planks are cut to size, to ensure that color, quality, workmanship and finish meet with their approval. Please contact the dealer without delay, if you are not satisfied. Make sure all subfloors are leveled and or flat before laying down the SPC floorings. Product should be stored in boxes horizontally at all times. Medieval Floors SPC floorings are intended for indoor use only. DO NOT install over any hardwood flooring or wood subfloors that lay directly on concrete, or over plywood used over concrete, carpet of any type, pre-existing vinyl floor, or any floating floor of any type. In order to be covered by this limited warranty, a licensed flooring contractor must properly install all Medieval Floors’ products. . Before installation, it is the owner and installer’s responsibility to inspect each plank for quality, color, and the finish. Install no more than 10% of the floor (but no more than 100 square feet) and inspect the floor. If the floor has manufacturer related issues, stop the installation immediately and contact your retailer or manufacturer representative before proceeding. Do not continue the installation, use constitutes acceptance. Please contact your retailer immediately if you are not satisfied with the planks before cutting.
Medieval Floors reserves the right to verify and inspect any and all warranty claims prior to deciding on the appropriate course of action. It may require more than one visit to the site to obtain a proper inspection. Warranty claims may be investigated and inspected by company personnel and/or a Certified Flooring Inspectors at our option. Responsibility for replacement costs of materials will be determined after cause and analysis is made.
Medieval Floors warrants all highest quality SPC (Stone Polymer Composite) with 100% virgin materials. Medieval Floors additionally warrants that these SPC flooring will not delaminate when properly installed and maintained. Any damages arising from installations are excluded from this warranty. For concrete subfloors, moisture vapor emissions should not exceed 5 lbs/24 hours per 1,000 sq when tested with the Anhydrous Calcium Chloride Test in accordance with ASTM F 1869 or 80% RH in accordance with ASTM F 2170 for Standard Test Method for Determining Relative Humidity in Concrete Slabs using in situ Probes. A 6mil polyurethane moisture barrier should be used with concrete subfloors. Fill cracks, saw cuts and control joints and level uneven areas that exceed 1/16' in 3'. Do not install flooring over expansion joints. Please see below for more warranty exclusions. In the event that the planks are defective due to manufacturing, Medieval Floors will, at our option, either: (1) replace the affected area(s) or (2) refund the purchase price for the affected area only, prorated over the remaining life of this limited warranty. Gloss Reduction and Scratches in the finish are not considered surface wear and are not covered under this warranty.
5-YEAR LIMITED COMMERCIAL WARRANTY (6.5MM THICKNESS): Medieval Floors warrants our SPC flooring to be free from manufacturing defects in commercial spaces for 5 years from the date of purchase.
10-YEAR LIMITED COMMERCIAL WARRANTY (8MM & 10MM): Medieval Floors warrants our SPC flooring to be free from manufacturing defects in commercial spaces for 10 years from the date of purchase.
TERMS: If a defect covered by this warranty occurs within the warranty period, Medieval Floors will (1) replace the defective area(s), or (2) If unable to repair or replace, refund the purchase price of the damaged area(s.) Medieval Floors will bot pay or be responsible for any labor costs.
FLOOR CARE AND MAINTENANCE:
Like any floor coverings, our SPC will show some signs of some signs of wear over time, depending on the size and lifestyle of your family. The following are examples of the reasonable and necessary maintenance you are expected to perform. These are not intended to be an exclusive list. 1. Sweep and vacuum regularly. Be certain the wheels of the vacuum are clean and do not damage the finish. 2. Dust mop or broom can be used for daily maintenance. When necessary, clean with a moist cloth or mop and a neutral PH cleanser or water. Heavy use of detergent cleaners will leave a residue and over time lead to a cloudy film. 3. Never use floor polish or floor cleaning wax, oil soaps, etc. 4. Do not use rubber/plastic-backed rug as it will discolor and stain your vinyl floors. 5. Caster wheeled chairs should have wide, rubber casters. Protective mats are required under office chairs. 6. Chairs with wheels should be used with proper protective mats under them (i.e. glass or acrylic floor mats), the use of powered wheel chairs should be limited; rolled loads across the floor can damage the locking mechanism. 7. Frequently moved furniture should be equipped with felt pads to avoid scratching the floor. Heavy furniture and appliances should be equipped with non-staining large surface floor protectors. Furniture with castors or wheels must be easy swiveling, large surface non-staining and suitable for resilient floors. Do NOT use ball type castors as they can damage the floor. 8. Oil or petroleum-based products can result in surface staining. Do not track asphalt-driveway sealer or automobile-oil drips onto the vinyl floor covering. 9. Sweep or vacuum the floor regularly to remove loose dirt. Do NOT use vacuums that use a beater bar or turn beater bar off. 10. Do NOT use electric brooms with hard plastic bottoms with no padding. 11. Do not expose floors to constant temperature exceeding 120° F. 12. Damp mop as needed using clean water and a diluted floor cleaner. Do NOT use harsh cleaners or chemicals on the floor. 13. DO NOT use abrasive scrubbing tools. Do NOT use detergents, abrasive cleaners or “mop and shine” products. 14. Vinyl Flooring, like other types of smooth floors, may become slippery when wet. Allow time for floor to dry after washing.
WARRANTY EXCLUSIONS: • Manufacturing defects in flooring that has been installed when such defects are visible or which reasonably could have been discovered by you or your installer prior to installations. • Squeaking, popping, or crackling of floors due to improper installations. • Dissatisfaction or any damage arising from improper installations or maintenance or uneven subfloor. • Color variances in grain or color found between samples or photographs supplied by dealers or variances in grain or color between samples and flooring received by you. • Any color changes to the flooring caused by the development of a unique patina over time; • Damage caused by fire, and other natural disasters and/or Acts of God. • Damage caused by negligence, accidents, misuse or abuse. • Damage caused by appliances, furniture, pets, and casters. • Discoloration or stain due to rubber/plastic backed rugs, mold from flooding, leaking plumbing or appliances. Or floor covering failure due to hydrostatic pressure or moisture vapor emission. • Damage occurring during renovation, transportation, and storage. • Normal wearing of the finish in high traffic areas; • Labor is not covered by this warranty; • Reduction in gloss, scratches, construction traffic, pets. • Any Medieval Floors’ products purchasing online.
OTHER: For faster assistance and easy service to you in the event of a claim, the following requirements must be met: • Retain and be able to provide the original sales receipt. • Flooring must be installed according to Medieval Floors’ Installation Instructions; • Use appropriate and safe vinyl floor cleaning products.
LIMITATIONS OF LIABILITY The above warranties are the complete and exclusive statement of Medieval Floors Residential Limited Warranty and 10-Year Limited Commercial Warranty and are expressly offered in lieu of all other expressed and/or statutory warranties including the implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for particular purpose. Medieval Floors assumes no liability for incidental or consequential damages. Some states do not allow the exclusion of limitations for incidental or consequential damages. In that case these exclusions may not apply to you. This warranty gives you legal rights that vary from state to state. Medieval Floors may replace or reimburse any defective product at its sole discretion. Any attempt to repair, replace, or refinish prior to Medieval Floors optional inspection will void this warranty. No installer, retailer, agent or employee has the authority to alter the terms or coverage of this warranty. In no event shall Medieval Floors be liable or in any manner responsible for any claim loss or damage arising from the purchase, use or inability to use its products or from any form of special, indirect, incidental or consequential damages, including, without limitation, lost profits, emotional, multiple, punitive or exculpatory damages or attorney’s fees, even if Medieval Floors or its representatives have been advised of the possibility of such damages before sale. In no event shall Medieval Floors be obligated to cover the costs of old or new materials other than Medieval Floors brand flooring products. In no event shall Medieval Floors liability exceed the amount Medieval Floors actually received up distribution for the defective materials at issue. Any or all disputes arising out of the Medieval Flooring or this warranty shall be subject to mandatory and binding arbitration in Alameda County, California, Pursuant to the Rules of American Arbitration Association. Any trials by jury are expressly waived.
